In consultation with John Walker we have created and written a curriculum based programme for use in schools and institutions, specialising in teaching children with learning difficulties. This area has been subject of much discussion and review within the public sector, but to date, whilst there are endless studies and reviews available, no one body has developed, created or delivered a model that has sustained or stood the test of time.

Team Drum Tree has created and delivered just such a model that has been sustained and adopted as the benchmark for coaching and nurturing children.

Class/session sizes vary from 6 to 12 individuals depending on the school/institution.

Learning difficulties in children and adults is not a ‘one size fits all’ situation and therefore, unlike a number of other mainstream learning tools, the aim of TEAM DRUM TREE Rhythm Therapy is not to involve the children in a ‘sheep dip’ process but to work collectively and individually with the children to bring out from them over a period of six sessions abilities they had not realised, nor thought they had.

This starts with a short pre-assessment by the school, so that we are mindful even before we start of each child’s specific needs.
